ByteX (“we,” “us,” or “our”) values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA). This policy governs our web hosting, VPS, MikroTik configuration, and billing systems integration services.
- Information We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to provide professional networking and hosting services:
Personal Information: Name, office/home address, email, and mobile number.
Financial Information: Billing history and payment confirmation (processed securely; ByteX does not store full credit card numbers).
Technical & Network Data:
Hosting: IP addresses, resource logs, and server metadata.
MikroTik/Network: Routerboard serial numbers, MAC addresses, network topology, and configuration backups.
Integrations: API credentials for billing platforms - Purpose and Lawful Basis
ByteX processes your data based on:
Contractual Necessity: To fulfill our service obligations (e.g., configuring your router or hosting your site).
Legitimate Interest: For network security, fraud prevention, and performance optimization.
Legal Compliance: To meet BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue) and other regulatory record-keeping requirements. - Data Sharing & Outsourcing
We do not sell your personal data. We only share information with:
Upstream Providers: Global or local data centers where our VPS/hosting nodes are located.
Third-Party Software: Automated billing or radius systems as requested by the client.
Regulatory Bodies: If required by the National Privacy Commission (NPC) or other Philippine law enforcement agencies under a valid court order. - Security of Configurations and Data
ByteX implements rigorous technical and organizational security measures:
Encryption: Use of TLS/SSL for all management interfaces and API calls.
Credential Vaulting: Client API keys and MikroTik passwords are encrypted at rest.
Strict Access Control: Only authorized ByteX engineers can access configuration files, and all access is logged. - Your Rights under the Data Privacy Act
As a data subject in the Philippines, you have the right to:
Be Informed: Know how your data is being used.
Access & Portability: Request a copy of your configurations or personal info.
Object/Suspend: Withhold consent to further processing (this may result in service termination).
Rectify & Erase: Correct errors or request the deletion of data no longer needed for legal/contractual purposes.
File a Complaint: If you feel your rights were violated, you may contact the National Privacy Commission. - Limitation of Liability
“As-Is” Provision: All configurations and hosting are provided “as-is.” ByteX is not liable for data loss; clients must maintain their own backups.
Network Risks: ByteX is not responsible for connectivity issues caused by ISPs or hardware failure.
Liability Cap: Our maximum aggregate liability is limited to the total service fees paid by the client for the three (3) months immediately preceding the claim.
Redress: In compliance with the Internet Transactions Act, any disputes must be submitted to our support team for a 7-day resolution period before escalation. - For inquiries, requests for data deletion, or privacy concerns, please contact:
